What would that look like?  What are the consumer shopping trends and expectations that will drive Retailer actions to meet those expectations?  And how is Lottery aligning with Retailer actions to meet consumer demand for digitizing the shopping experience, for alternative ways to execute transactions (i.e. non-cash, Mobile Wallet, etc.), for innovation of POS’s and in-store messaging and consumer engagement strategies, etc.?  Let’s have a frank discussion about consumer and industry trends, the limitations of Lottery to align with those trends, how to overcome those limitations or at least isolate and focus on some actionable ways for Lottery to meet the needs of modern retailing and consumer expectations.  This discussion is not about the games themselves but about the in-store consumer shopping experience.

Special Work-Group Round-Table Discussion: Making our Lottery Account Management Systems Easier for Retailer
Multi-State Retailers represent an incredible opportunity.  We don’t need new games or transformational innovation to increase sales through this channel.  We just need updated business practices to make it easier for these marketing/distributional powerhouses to do business with us.  Retailers which operate in more than one state need to be able to interact with a standardized set of business-processes that are adopted by all lotteries.  How can the business of managing and exchanging data, producing reports, processing transactions, and the countless other operational processes be further standardized?  How can the application of common standards and other business-process enhancements help our retailers, drive productivity, increase efficiency, reduce costs, and drive sales?

Moderator: Terry Presta, Executive Director, Kansas Lottery Panelists: Debbie Alford, President & Chief Executive Officer, Georgia Lottery

Andrew Crowe, Vice President, Interactive Payments, IGT

Tom Delacenserie, Secretary, Florida Lottery

Alice Garland, Executive Director, North Carolina Lottery
